ARGUS readers will have five days to vote in a new singing competition.

Pier Nine, Brighton’s new seafront entertainment hub, offered aspiring musicians the chance to win £1,000 as well as a feature story in The Argus and a minimum of three performances at the freshly opened venue next year.

A series of talented artists entered and you will be able to choose a winner from four.

Readers will have five days to vote for their favourite and decide the three people’s champions.

These finalists will then perform at Pier Nine in January for the chance to be crowned the overall winner.

Argus editor Arron Hendy said: “This is an amazing opportunity for all artists in the area to perform at a great new venue.

“Sussex has a rich history of brilliant musicians, stretching from Dame Vera Lynn to Rag ’n’ Bone man, so I’m sure there are plenty of future stars waiting to be uncovered.

“I am really looking forward to seeing what the future holds for the winner of the competition.”

The winner of the competition will perform at Pier Nine’s launch party on February 1.

The venue, which is close to the Palace Pier, is a renovation of the Grosvenor Casino site in Grand Junction Road.

The owners are currently putting the final touches to a far-reaching £5.2 million refurbishment of the building.
