FIRE crews fought a raging blaze in a house through the early hours of Christmas morning.
The inferno erupted in the bedroom of a two-storey house in Wadhurst late on Tuesday evening.
When fire crews arrived the house was “well alight” and police and ambulance crews were called to join them at the scene.
Speaking as the incident unfolded, a spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 11.28pm on Christmas Eve to reports of a fire in a bedroom at a property in Faircrouch Lane in Wadhurst.
“As of midnight, four fire engines are in attendance.
“Everyone has been accounted for.
“Sussex Police and SECamb are also at the scene.”
At 9.05am on Christmas morning, an update was provided.
The spokeswoman said crews had brought the fire under control and the Red Cross Fire Victim support team - a group of volunteers who “provide practical and emotional support to help people when they need it most” - was requested for two adults and three dogs.
