TRAINS were cancelled following a landslip.
Southern Railway said no trains would be running until further notice after the landslip between East Grinstead and Hurst Green on Sunday morning.
Passengers were urged to avoid travelling or face delays of at least 90 minutes and replacement bus services.
The rail company said: “A landslip has been confirmed in the East Grinstead area. This means it is unsafe for trains to operate until the relevant repairs and investigations have taken place. Therefore, no trains will run between Hurst Green and East Grinstead. Network Rail are in the process of conducting their investigations.”
Trains are currently unable to call at Lingfield, Dormans and East Grinstead.
Southern services between London Victoria and East Grinstead will terminate and start at Hurst Green
An hourly rail replacement bus service will be in operation between Hurst Green and East Grinstead.
