JANE CHALLENGER-GILLETT

Aged 55, of Roundhill Crescent, Brighton, admitted harassing a neighbour with a knife in breach of a restraining order. Also admitted assaulting six police officers. Initially ordered to complete 20 rehabilitation sessions and pay a £200 fine, with a £90 surcharge and £85 costs. Then ordered to complete treatment for alcohol dependency for one year, with a £90 surcharge and £85 costs. To pay £450 in compensation. Restraining order to continue until October 2021.

ANITA HARRIS

Aged 49, of Selsfield Drive, Brighton, admitted wasting police time by making a false report. Given a conditional discharge and to pay a £21 surcharge and £40 costs.

WILLIAM PIPER

Aged 26, of Newick Road, Moulsecoomb, Brighton, admitted jointly stealing garden storage boxes from B&Q in Newhaven and breaching a community order for driving a Ford S-Max car without the owner’s consent and damaging it, failing to turn up for a cocaine drugs test and failing to show up to court. Given a 16-week suspended prison sentence and to complete six months of drug treatment. To pay a £122 surcharge and £85 costs.

ASHLEY BOWLER

Aged 32, of no fixed address, admitted failing to attend appointments in Brighton following his release from prison. Jailed for nine days.

LEE HUNTER

Aged 32, of Denton Island, Newhaven, admitted assaulting a woman in St James’s Street. Brighton. Ordered to complete 15 rehabilitation sessions and to pay £200 compensation.

KENAN JAMES

Aged 33, of Craven Vale, Brighton, admitted failing to provide a blood test when suspected of drink or drug driving in a Honda CR-V, driving without valid insurance and without a valid licence. Ordered to complete 15 rehabilitation sessions, fined £100, and to pay a £90 surcharge and £300 costs. Banned from driving for one year and eight months.

JOSEPH LAVELLE

Aged 72, of Lyndhurst Road, Worthing, admitted drink-driving in a Kia Picanto. Tested positive for 76 microgrammes (mcg) of alcohol per 100 millilitres (ml) of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg per 100ml. Fined £250, with a £30 surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 17 months.

ALICIA MOORE

Aged 28, of Seamill Park Crescent, Worthing, admitted criminal damage to a police car park sign. Given a conditional discharge, with a £21 surcharge and £85 costs.

Aged 30, of Church Road, Hove, guilty of riding a Yamaha at a speed in excess of 30mph on the A259 in Shoreham. Fined £440, with a £44 surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for six months.

PETER GRIFFITHS

Aged 54, of Drove Crescent, Portslade, guilty in absence of failing to give details of a driver of a Ford suspected of a road traffic offence in Shoreham to the police. Fined £660, with a £66 surcharge and £85 costs. Six points added to his licence.

STEVEN MONTAGUE

Aged 43, of Grand Parade, Brighton, guilty in absence of failing to give details of a driver of an Audi suspected of a road traffic offence in Shoreham to the police. Fined £660, with a £66 surcharge and £85 costs. Six points added to his licence.

LIAM VINE

Aged 19, of Valley Road, Newhaven, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Hailsham. Given a conditional discharge, with a £21 surcharge and £85 costs.

DIANA HUGHES

Aged 38, of Sillwood Street, Brighton, found guilty in absence of breaching a court order by entering a property in Zion Gardens following a closure order. Fined £25, with a £30 surcharge and £50 costs.

MICHAEL MURRAY

Aged 31, of Whitehawk Road, Whitehawk, Brighton, found guilty of possessing a knife in public, and breaching a suspended sentence for possessing a needle in public. Jailed for one year.

Aged 58, of Fletching Close, Brighton, admitted driving a Ford at a speed in excess of 30mph on the A270 Lewes Road. Fined £133, with a £30 surcharge and £85 costs. Three points added to his licence.

Aged 19, of The Foyer, Brighton, admitted failing to explain his absences from unpaid work. Community order to continue with an extra seven hours added.

Aged 36, of Queen’s Park Road, Brighton, admitted being drunk and disorderly. Fined £113, with a £32 surcharge and £85 costs.

COURTNEY MACQUEEN

Aged 24, of Ousedale Close, Lewes, admitted three assaults on police. Put under curfew for six weeks, and to complete eight rehabilitation sessions, with a £90 surcharge, and £85 costs.

Aged 21, of George William Mews, Portslade, admitted possessing cannabis and assaulting a woman in Boundary Road. Fined £160, with a £32 surcharge and £85 costs. Also to pay £50 compensation.

DANIEL THOROUGHGOOD

Aged 40, of Norman Road, Hove, admitted drink driving in a Ford Focus. Tested positive for 81mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. Fined £1,100, with a £110 surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for three years.

STEPHEN MOORE

Aged 46, of Newton Road, Lewes, admitted criminal damage to a card machine at a petrol station, using threatening or abusive words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of immediate violence. Fined £160, with a £32 surcharge and £85 costs. Also to pay £275 in compensation.

GORDON STROKER

Aged 42, of Ditchling Road, Brighton, admitted drink-driving in a BMW, and driving without a valid licence or valid insurance. Tested positive for 99mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. Aged 41, of Radnor Road, Worthing, admitted failing to comply with supervision requirements following release from prison. Fined £50.

WAYNE LEYH

Aged 38, of Monks Close, Lancing, admitted stealing alcohol worth £100 from Morrisons in Worthing, and breaching a community order by failing to attend appointments. Fined £80, with a £30 surcharge and £100 compensation. To complete five extra rehabilitation sessions.

JACK MARTIN

Aged 24, of Parkside, Shoreham, admitted failing to attend unpaid work. Ordered to pay £60 costs, with thee extra rehabilitation sessions and 15 more hours of unpaid work.

Aged 46, of Kingston Lane, Shoreham, admitted failing to attend unpaid work. Ordered to complete 15 extra hours.

KEVIN HUME

Aged 49, of Montpelier Place, Brighton, changed to guilty plea for causing racist harassment, alarm and distress, and using threatening or abusive behaviour to a police officer. Jailed for 12 weeks and to pay a £122 surcharge and £100 compensation.
