A REFRIGERATION unit is believed to have exploded in a supermarket.
It is reported that several people sustained minor injuries.
The incident took place in a branch of the Co-op in Chichester Road, Bognor.
Emergency services were called to the scene.
Pictures from the scene show that a fire engine and at least one ambulance were called.
Meanwhile police cordoned off the store and told customers they could not go in.
A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue said: "Fire crews received a call at 3.28pm about an incident at the Co-op in Chichester Road.
"There had been a gas leak in a fridge freezer, so it was a case of carrying out ventilation by the Bognor fire fighters."
