A ROAD is closed after a car overturned in a crash.
The collision happened in Southgate Avenue, Crawley, at about 11.20am.
Police warned drivers to avoid the area.
A Sussex Police statement said: "Southgate Avenue in Crawley has been closed following a collision between two cars this morning.
"Emergency services were called to the scene at 11.20am.
"One driver has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and has been taken to hospital as a precaution, but is not believed to have been seriously injured.
"The road is expected to remain closed for a while as damage has been caused to a traffic light and this needs to be made safe."
A Crawley Police spokesman said Highways had attended the scene to make it safe.
There are delays in the area as a result of the road closure.
An AA spokesman said: “The road is closed due to a crash involving two vehicles on the A2004 Southgate Avenue both ways from Tilgate Way to Tyler Road.
“There is queueing traffic on approach to the closure.”
The road was reopened at about 2.30pm.
