THE force was strong with this group of young Jedis.

Dozens of children took part in a special Jedi training school.

Young Skywalkers, little Sith Lords and a mini Yoda all joined the training session to hone their lightsaber skills before parading through Horsham town centre.

Steve Goodwin, 39, of Force Academy Parties, pictured centre, dressed as a Jedi and helped the children perform their own mind tricks on shopping unsuspecting shopping centre security.

He said: “I thought it was great. The children all got involved.

“The reason I first started doing it is I am a big fan and seeing that love pass down to the next generation is brilliant

“It’s about passing down the love of Star Wars.”

The young Jedis started practising their lightsaber skills outside Gobsmack Comics before heading to Horsham’s Market Square to display their newfound skills.

Shoppers stopped and watched in awe as the young Jedis helped levitate objects.

The comic shop will be holding Sussex’s biggest Star Wars fan event on February 1.

Characters and stars from the films will be taking part and fans are encouraged to dress up as their favourite characters to help raise money for the Springboard Project children’s charity.
