THE heartbroken partner of a firefighter who was found dead in a river has paid tribute to her fiancée.

Anthony Knott, 33, from Orpington, Kent, had not been seen since a pub crawl with around a dozen other London Fire Brigade colleagues in Lewes on December 20.

The father-of-four's body was found in the River Ouse in Newhaven yesterday.

And today his partner Lucy Otto posted a heartbreaking tribute to Anthony.

"I love you, I always have and I always will," she wrote on her Facebook .

"Sleep tight my hero."

The Argus:

Earlier on Lucy had released a range of new pictures of Anthony and pleaded with people to share her post in the hope someone may have seen him.

A video posted on New Year's Eve by The Lansdown Arms landlady Viv English shows Anthony entering her pub.

According to the time stamp, he enters at 4.02pm with three other men.

Just over a minute later, Anthony leaves the pub and is seen standing outside speaking on the phone before going back in.

Anthony then leaves the pub again at 4.18pm to smoke with another man and woman.

He is then seen outside the pub entrance at 4.51pm for another cigarette, this time alone.

After the body was taken from the river Detective Inspector Mark Rosser said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Anthony at this difficult time.

"We too are saddened by this update and would ask the public and media to respect the families' privacy at this time.

"We would like to thank the public for their tremendous support with our investigation into the disappearance of Anthony, along with our partner agencies and volunteers who assisted with the search."
