A DOUBLE weather warning for gales is now in force for the county next week.
There is a 14-hour alert for gales of up to 80 miles an hour in Sussex on Monday.
The warning is in place from 10am until midnight.
Now a second 12-hour wind warning has been issued for Tuesday - from midday though until midnight.
The Met Office says that could cause disruption on the roads and to public transport.
Power problems and big waves around the coast are also expected.
A Met Office statement said: “Southwesterly winds are expected to strengthen during Tuesday afternoon and evening.
“Gusts of 40 to 50 mph are expected quite widely inland, with exposed coasts and hills having gusts of around 60 mph, perhaps locally 70 mph.
“Heavy rain may be an additional hazard in places. Winds will ease from the west during Tuesday night.”
