I WOULD like to ask whoever is responsible if they could make the popular Brighton Centre a grade II listed building.
I am sure that the people of the city will agree with me that it has certainly earned its keep and is one of the most important buildings in the city.
It also has history. Bing Crosby gave his last performance here just after it opened in 1977. One of the most famous speeches of the 20th century was made here, when Margaret Thatcher said that "this lady is not for turning"!
The centre is a modern looking building and its position is as good as you can get..right next to one of the finest hotels in Europe, The Grand hotel.
