A TAXI driver accused of raping a passenger has been banned from his cab.

Ajmal Hazraty is accused of raping a woman at her home in Worthing after driving her from Western Road, Brighton.

Hazraty has now been told he is not allowed to enter Sussex, or drive customers in a cab, after being released on bail by Lewes Crown Court on Friday.

Hazraty, 37, of Haven Way, Newhaven, is charged with two counts of raping the 31-year-old woman at her Worthing flat on Saturday December 21.

Judge Anne Arnold allowed him to be released on conditional bail on Friday.

He was ordered to live at an address in Kingston-upon-Thames and report to police everyday.

He was given a curfew banning him from leaving the address between 7pm and 7am and told not to contact the alleged victim.

He was also banned from “driving for hire or reward” and told he is only allowed to return to Sussex for court appearances and to see his solicitor.

He is due to return to Lewes Crown Court on January 31 to enter his plea to the charges.
