AN ANIMAL charity is appealing for people to house an unwanted cat.

Cats Protection said Smudge, from Haywards, Heath, pictured right, is desperate for a new home.

It said: “Eleven-year-old black and white cat Smudge is still a kitten at heart. He loves nothing more than being stroked, tickled under the chin, and even chasing children’s toys across the carpet. This affectionate puss thrives on attention, and is also keen to curl up on people’s laps when they are having some down time.”

Cats Protection said he would be happy to live with children or dogs, as long as there is an outdoor space for him to explore.

If you live in the Sussex area and would like to offer Smudge a home, call Cats Protection’s National Adoption Centre on 01825 741 330 or email cattery.reception@cats.org.uk.

The charity helps more than 200,000 cats and kittens every year through its dedicated volunteer team and 30 adoption centres.
