A RAIL company is warning passengers to expect delays on its services due to severe weather conditions.
This follows a landslip on the line between Horsham and Dorking earlier today which is currently causing trains to be cancelled and delayed.
A Southern Rail spokesman said: "The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for high winds today in England, Wales and parts of Scotland, and heavy rain in south east England.
"This weather event has been named Storm Brendan.
"Routes in the worst affected areas may have speed restrictions imposed by Network Rail for safety reasons.
"This could result in longer journey times due to train delays and the full or partial cancellation of train services.
"Please make sure you leave plenty of time for your journey, particularly if catching a flight, connecting with a long-distance train or making an urgent appointment."
He continued: "A landslip between Horsham and Dorking means trains between these stations may be delayed, cancelled or revised.
"Some trains may also be diverted where possible.
"We anticipate disruption will continue until the end of the day."
