THERE are "severe delays" on a busy road after a car flipped in a crash.

The incident happened on the A24  near Copsale at about 5pm.

An AA spokesman said: "One lane is blocked and there is queueing traffic due to a rolled over car on the A24 Worthing Road southbound from Mill Straight to the junction with the A272 Cowfold Road.

"Lane two (of two) is blocked.

"All traffic was held initially, however traffic is now able to pass the collision.

"There are severe delays of 13 minutes in Worthing Road southbound between the A24 (Hop Oast Park And Ride Roundabout) and the A24 Worthing Road."

Roads pollicing officer PC Glen McArthur shared an image of a flipped car near Copsale on social media, praising the work of people who had helped the woman driving out of her car.

The A24 in Dial Post, between Horsham and Storrington, is also blocked due to a fallen tree.

An AA spokesman said: "The road is partially blocked and there is slow traffic due to a fallen tree on the A24 southbound at Worthing Road.

"Reports say that the tree had struck a van just past the Old Barn Garden Centre.

"This has not been helped by the adverse weather conditions."
