A CHARITY which helps children with disabilities has been given a new driveway.
Work on a new wheelchair-friendly driveway has been completed at the Children’s Respite Trust in Uckfield.
The charity offers care and support for children with disabilities across Sussex, Surrey and Kent.
Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey donated much of the materials needed to upgrade the old gravel driveway and covered the hire cost of all the machinery required including a concrete breaker and compactor and workers to complete the renovation.
Contractors from HGH Groundworks and Hailsham Roadway also helped.
Gavin Fisher, chief executive of The Children’s Respite Trust, said: “Anyone who has ever tried to push a wheelchair across gravel will understand how tough it can be and we want to ensure all visitors can access the centre. We are hugely grateful to the Taylor Wimpey team for making this possible.”
