A POLICE chief has slammed a string of “disgusting” crimes as thieves target specific car parts.
Crooks stole the parts from vehicles in the Horsham area.
A spokesman said: “We have received reports of catalytic converters being stolen from cars in Horsham.
“Cars of interest are Toyota or Honda, however other vehicles have also been targeted. We will do everything we can to prevent this activity and remind anyone to report any suspicious activity.”
Road policing unit chief inspector for Surrey and Sussex, Michael Hodder, slammed the actions.
He said: “This sort of crime really is disgusting.
“Thieves are taking these for the metals inside and don’t care about the car owner.
“Consider if this was a mobility car or the only way someone can care for someone, and the cost implications.
“We will do what we can to catch them.”
