A ROAD which dramatically collapsed under the weight of floodwater has finally reopened after weeks.
The A26 at Spart’s Brook, near Eridge, was closed days before Christmas when a highway drain washed away during heavy rain.
Workers spent almost four weeks battling soggy conditions to rebuild the road before it opened on Wednesday.
East Sussex County Council assistant director Karl Taylor said the collapse was “significant and quite dramatic”.
