A “BOGUS police officer” has swindled victims out of thousands of pounds.
Mid Sussex Police have urged residents to stay vigilant after two elderly people were targeted.
A spokesman from the force explained the scam.
He said: “A bogus police officer from the Met phones and says there is fraud on your bank account and he needs help to catch suspect. You go to the bank and a cash courier collects it from your home. They have been to see two elderly victims this week with £8300 lost.”
