LAST WEEKEND OF THE ICE RINK

LACE up those skates with the family as this weekend is the last chance to spend some time on the Royal Pavilion’s ice rink. The annual installation, which can been found outside the landmark, will not be returning until the next festive season. So before it goes, why not skate on down for one last chance to enjoy the festive fun with the family? Open between 9:30am–10:15pm. The last day of the installation is on Sunday.

MINI GOLFING

Why not take the mini-ones mini-golfing? As it is based outside, how much the family enjoys the mini-golfing on Madeira Drive will rely on the weather.

But, with the winds and rains giving way for some cool and clam weather this weekend, it is a sure-fire way to keep the children entertained for an hour.

There are two places to enjoy; Jungle Rumble Adventure Golf, which can be found past the Concorde 2, and Brighton Beach Crazy Golf, which can be found near the Zipwire. While you are in the area, you can also treat yourself to some volleyball from Yellowave Beach Sports Venue and snacks from the Modern World Cafe Car.

COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP

If you feel like giving something back this weekend, why not take part in cleaning up part of Brighton’s seafront? Organised by the city’s only independent councillor, Bridget Fishleigh, a team of graffiti-cleaning, flower-planting activists will be meeting at Volks Railway Station at 2pm and will be cleaning up the Black Rock area until 4pm.

ANNUAL FREE DAY AT THE ROYAL PAVILION

To celebrate the purchase of the Royal Pavilion by the town of Brighton in 1850, admission charges are waived one day a year. This year, that day will be Sunday.

Have a look around Prince Regent’s “Pleasure Palace “ which was gifted to the city by Queen Victoria, giving it the new nickname, the “People’s Palace”. Gaze at the regal splendour of artefacts, artworks and architecture which has been painstakingly maintained by a dedicated team of volunteers over the years. Recently, the newly refurbished doors of the Saloon opened to the public since the room’s funded restoration.

TONNES OF FUN AT BRIGHTON PALACE PIER

Enjoy the tension of the two pence machines at the pier’s amusements or grab a sweet treat along the historic wooden planks.

A trip to the Palace Pier offers a range of activities including fairground rides and arcade games, as well as a range of food and drink.

A walk to the end of the structure will also give you great views of the city.
