DOZENS of generous shoppers gave thousands to a homeless charity in just two days.
More than £6,000 was raised for Brighton Housing Trust by festive bucket shakers as they hit the city’s streets on December 20 and 21.
The charity helped 174 people get off the streets and into homes last year.
Chief executive Andy Winter said he was “incredibly grateful” for shoppers’ generosity.
“These collections are a great way of raising money for BHT’s First Base and spreading awareness of our many services,” he said.
“Of course, homelessness isn’t something that happens just at Christmas time.”
