A TORY MP and a Labour MP will come together to decided their favourite small businesses.

When it comes to Parliament, Lewes MP Maria Caulfield and Brighton Kemptown MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle are on different sides of the aisle.

But in May they will be judges at the Seahaven Business Awards to recognise the most creative and innovative companies in Seaford, Newhaven and Peacehaven.

Newhaven Chamber of Commerce president Mike Shorer said the Sussex coast was home to many exciting firms.

“Every year there are many stand-out achievements and all three local chambers are looking forward to discovering new leaders and innovative businesses to celebrate in 2020,” he said.

“This coastal strip in East Sussex is an exciting place to run a business, and numerous companies deserve local recognition for their achievements.”

Businesses have until April 3 to apply for the award ceremony.

Categories include business of the year, best new business and best environmental business.
