A VEGAN burger joint is making steps to open a new restaurant.

Vurger Co wants to break into Brighton by starting a restaurant in the heart of The Lanes.

The company offers a “100 per cent vegan brand” with a menu of fast food with a twist.

Its website says it aims to “make vegetables sexy again”.

It also has a policy of “zero to landfill” with all the packaging it uses being made from plants and fully compostable.

Signs are currently displayed in the window of 13 Brighton Place stating that the company is applying to Brighton and Hove City Council for a licence to put tables and chairs outside the currently empty shop.

It also plans to apply for a licence to “provide late-night refreshment from Monday to Saturday between 11pm and midnight” and to “sell and supply alcohol on and off the premises from Monday to Saturday between 9am and midnight, and Sunday between 9am and 11pm”.

Vurger Co currently has two sites in Shoreditch and Canary Wharf.

Its latest site would be on the edge of the Hanningtons Lane, the newest addition to the shopping district.
