IT SEEMS to me that there is an increasing number of owners, who do not take their dogs for a walk and let them do what dogs do, eg, sniff around socialise with other dogs.

No these poor creatures have to be dragged along on their lead while the owner rides their bicycles.

I saw a good example of this while walking my dog from Saltdean to the Marina on the undercliff.

A young lady came towards me on her bicycle at about eight miles per hour, weaving between the pedestrians almost dragging a poor little dog.

The poor thing was obviously exhausted and needed to rest, it being very warm that day the poor animal probably needed to drink. I did try to point this out to her but she was going to fast to hear me.

I believe this could be a form of cruelty to the animals.

I believe these people who do this are selfish and are not putting their dogs needs first. If their dog needs a walk, then walk it.

There should be a law against this practice, as it seems to be on the increase.
