Fire breaks out at shopping centre
A FIRE has broken out at a shopping centre.
The blaze sparked in a waste compactor at the County Mall Shopping Centre in Crawley.
Fire crews are currently at the scene.
A West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokesman provided an update on the incident at 1.50pm.
He said: "We are dealing with a fire in a waste compactor at the County Mall Shopping Centre in Crawley.
"Two crews from Crawley Fire and one Surrey Fire and Rescue Service crew from Salfords are using one jet and two hose reels to extinguish the fire."
At 2.15pm a spokesman for the service provided an update.
He said: "Crews have extinguished the fire, which was in the basement area of the building, and left the scene shortly after 2pm."
