POLICE have launched a search for a man in connection with nine burglaries.

The string of thefts targeted homes in the Hangleton area of Hove since January 2.

The houses were all within a small area surrounding Hangleton Library in West Way.

Police are now seeking Robert Cox, 33, in connection with the burglaries.

During some of the incidents a woman with blonde/brown hair stayed outside the houses and kept watch as they were burgled.

It is believed she may have had a small terrier dog with her.

On January 20 a 30-year-old woman from the Hangleton area was arrested in connection with the offences.

She was later released on bail.

Robert Cox is also wanted for recall to prison following a breach of his early release requirements.

Sussex Police announced officers were searching for him in relation to this offence on Tuesday.

They issued a renewed appeal this morning saying he was being sought in relation to the burglaries.

Cox is white, 5ft 6in tall and of slim build, with mousey brown hair.

He is clean shaven and has links to Littlehampton, as well as Hangleton.

Detective Sergeant Chris Lane said; “If you have seen Cox or know where he is please give us a call on 999 or 101, quoting serial 1374 of 16/01.”
