AN environmentally friendly menstruation product is being made available free in all schools across the country.
The Brighton-invented Mooncup is offered to girls at all state schools and colleges as a part of a new Department for Education scheme.
It is the first time environmentally friendly and plastic free products are being offered as a free option in schools, alongside traditional disposable pads and tampons.
The reusable silicone cups offer a more sustainable way to manage periods. When cleaned and stored properly, the Mooncup will last years and is an effective way to eliminate the cost of managing periods.
Operating since 2002, Mooncup, based in New England Road, was the first manufacturer in the world to produce a reusable medical grade silicone cup.
