A PERVERT who tried to meet a teenager for sex has been jailed.

Edward Senior chatted to someone he believed was a young teenage girl in Horsham online.

But the unemployed 31-year-old fell into a sting by the public.

At Lewes Crown Court it was revealed Senior was already on the sex offenders register.

A Sexual Harm Prevention Order was meant to stop him having any unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16.

Senior, of no fixed address, admitted arranging to meet a child under 16 for sexual activity, attempting to have sexual communication with a child, and breaching the sexual harm order.

Police arrested im on December 20.

He was jailed for six years.

Detective Sergeant Samantha Jedrzejewska said;:”Senior was already a current registered sex offender, having been convicted in January 2016 of engaging in sexual activity with a 14 year old girl in March 2015.

“He engaged in online chat with what he thought was a young girl, and arranged to meet in Horsham, but in fact he had been talking to an adult posing as a child.

“He will now be a registered sex offender for life and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) already in place with conditions for his residence and contact with children will now last indefinitely and includes severe restrictions on his access to any computer or related device.”
