A CHILD rapist, a dangerous rape fantasist and an airport bomb hoaxer were among those jailed for their offences in January.

William Harris raped a ten-year-old girl and made graphic indecent images, Lewes Crown Court heard.

The 29-year-old handyman, of Aldervale Cottages, Crowborough, was jailed for a total of 13-and-a-half-years.

Detective Constable David Peek said: “Harris exploited this vulnerable and innocent young girl for his own sexual gratification.

“But his offending came to notice when she reported what was happening to a member of her family.”

Meanwhile, following a trial, 23-year-old Neil Scott O’Connor was found guilty of attempting to strangle two women for his own sick sex fantasies.

The love rat was cheating on both the women, who cannot be named for legal reasons, in Sussex.

Scott-O’Connor, of Partridge Green, was jailed for 17 years, with the judge describing him as a danger to women of committing the same offences, which were “tantamount to rape”.

Rashidul Islam was sent to prison after he made a bomb hoax in a bid to delay the flight he was late for.

The 32-year-old tried to stop an Easyjet flight to Marrakech, but was then arrested when he arrived at Gatwick.

At Lewes Crown Court Islam, of Ivy Lane, London, was jailed for 16 months.

Pervert Edward Senior was already a registered sex offender when he started chatting to a 14-year-old girl online.

He tried to meet the girl for sex in Horsham, but found out it was in fact a sting.

The 31-year-old was jailed for six years.

Peter Drury meanwhile pimped out a vulnerable 26-year-old woman he had met on a dating site.

He was jailed at Lewes Crown Court after the woman from West Sussex told the police.

Drury, of Wellfield Avenue, Neath, South Wales, was jailed for 16 months for controlling prostitution for gain.

At Newhaven, lorry driver Constantin Mocanu was jailed for trying to smuggle eight Vietnamese nationals into the country.

He was stopped by officials and sent to court.

At Lewes Crown Court the 55-year-old Romanian was jailed for three years and seven months.

Police caught up with drug dealer Glen Hodgins after he was driving back from Bluewater.

They found a picture of the 32-year-old carpenter boasting with wads of cash, and found drugs and cash in his van.

Hodgins, of Ashdown Close, St Leonards, was sent to prison for seven years for being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Finally, Otis Watson, of Canberra Place, Horsham, was raided by police.

They found £75,000 worth of cocaine at his home.

The 27-year-old was jailed for three years and four months.
