POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a stabbing in Crawley.

On January 18, at around 1am, the victim - a 37-year-old man - was walking along Broadfield Brook footpath when he was approached by three men coming from the opposite direction.

One of the suspects was reported to have a large knife while another demanded the victim’s money.

The victim did not have any money on him and was subsequently stabbed twice.

The victim reached the end of the footpath where he bumped into a member of the public who he warned about going down the footpath.

Police are appealing for this person to come forward to assist with enquiries.

The member of the public is described as white, male, 5’9’’, with dark blonde hair and was wearing dark clothing.

The victim was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton where he received stitches for his wounds.
