POLICE were seen running through a public garden in a search for a man.
The officers were pursuing a man on a bike in Pavilion Gardens, Brighton, on Sunday after reports of a “domestic-related” assault at a block of flats in nearby Grand Parade.
A passerby said there were six officers running through the gardens, and she was told they were searching for a man.
Today a Sussex Police spokesman provided further details on the incident.
He said: “Police were called to a block of flats in Grand Parade, Brighton, at 10.20am on Sunday to a report of a woman in distress in a communal area.
“Following information received about a domestic-related assault, officers identified a suspect who
was reported to have been seen on a bicycle in Pavilion Gardens.
“A search took place, but he was not located.
“Sussex Police enquiries are continuing.”
