A LARGE section of a fire-damaged hotel has collapsed in high winds.

Part of the hotel facade came down as storm Ciara raged this weekend,

The Claremont Hotel on Eastbourne seafront went up in flames as guests were eating breakfast in November.

Days later parts of the building crumbled, and in December there was a second collapse.

In a statement, the Eastbourne Borough Council said: “Our team continue to work closely with hotel representatives and their demolition contractor to ensure the safest procedure for dealing with the remainder of the building.”
