THOUSANDS of pounds have been seized from the convicted members of a drugs gang.

The gang who sold drugs in Eastbourne were back in court for a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing.

Sam Rostam, 25, Hasani James, 27, Amber Verbugge, 28, and Charlotte Storey, 26, all of Wembley, were convicted in May last year.

The quartet had sold crack cocaine and heroin.

This month Rostam was ordered to pay £1,220, James was ordered to pay £190, Verbugge was ordered to pay £2,500, and Storey must pay a nominal £1.

Rostam is serving an eight-year sentence, while James is serving a five-year sentence.

Detective Inspector Tom Bradshaw, from SEROCU Economic Crime Unit said: “Despite these offenders having already been convicted, we know that they made significant sums of money from their illicit activity and we will endeavour to recoup as much of this as possible.

“Although the courts have ordered the group to pay back what is currently known to be available to them, we will continue our enquiries so that, if any more assets become available in the future, we will take them back to court.”
