THERE has been a car accident on the A27 in Hove.

The road is partially blocked after the crash on the Patcham exit slip road. There are long delays and traffic is said to be queueing for four miles.

Sussex Police said there were minor injuries, but would not comment further.

Brighton and Hove Buses said its BH27 services are delayed and traffic is being diverted onto Dyke Road.

A spokeswoman for the company said buses are now running normally. She said: "Our buses were experiencing delays during rush hour of around 30 mins after the A27 accident. This affected routes 5,6 and 27 in particular."

There were heavy queues between the A2038 King George VI Avenue and the turning for the A23 London Road at Patcham, and commuters as far away as Shoreham said they had been affected.
