A PUB has been evacuated after a car crash caused a gas leak in the city centre.
People in the Lion and Lobster pub in Sillwood Street, Brighton, have been evacuated after the car crashed into a house in Bedford Place.
Nearby roads in the area have been closed off after it was discovered the crash caused a gas leak.
Residents in nearby houses have also been evacuated and witnesses report a strong smell of gas in the area.
A Brighton and Hove bus has parked nearby to provide shelter for those who have been evacuated.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said officers are working with East Sussex Fire and Rescue at the scene.
He added that there are no reported injuries.
