CAROLINE Flack has been found dead at the age of 40, according to reports.

The former Love Island host's body is believed to have been discovered at her home.

The cause of death has not yet been confirmed but her family have released a statement.

A statement read: "We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February.

"We would ask that the press both respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time."

Caroline started her career as an actress, starring in Bo’ Selecta! in 2002 and then went on to present various ITV2 spin-off shows such as I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The TV star also won the twelfth series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2014 and in the following year she began presenting the first-ever series of Love Island and continued to do so for the next five seasons.

Caroline had recently returned to the UK after spending some time in LA, where it's believed she was taking a wellness break.

She had travelled to the US after stepping down from her position as Love Island host.

Caroline has been due to stand trial on March 4 after pleading not guilty to assault by beating following an early-morning altercation with her boyfriend Lewis Burton.
