A CARE home has launched an appeal for birthday cards as one of its residents turns 100.
Mary Johnson will celebrate the milestone on Sunday and staff at The Goldbridge Bupa Care Home in Haywards Heath want to make sure the day is remembered for all the right reasons.
So they have put out a plea for people across the UK to send her a birthday card.
General manager Karen Shrimpton said: “We know there’s a great sense of community spirit here in Haywards Heath so it would be amazing if we could pull together to make Mary’s birthday extra special.”
Mary will celebrate the day surrounded by staff, friends and family, who plan to surprise her with tea and cake.
But they want to make the occasion even more special by marking it with an influx of cards dedicated to Mary.
Anyone wanting to send a card to Mary should address it to Mary Johnson at The Goldbridge Bupa Care Home, 3 Kleinwort Close, Haywards Heath, RH16 4XH.
