A LUXURY hotel chain is in court accused of providing false information and food hygiene standards.
Champneys will appear before Brighton Magistrates' Court today over its hotel and spa break site at Forest Mere, near Liphook.
The firm faces a total of 19 charges, including making false claims about the health benefits of food on offer.
One claim included suggesting an apple crumble dessert could "help reduce the risk of cancer, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes".
The case, brought by West Sussex County Council, was adjourned yeterday.
