Brighton Half Marathon

It is a big birthday for The Grand Brighton Half Marathon – it’s the 30th anniversary. One of the first major half marathons in the running calendar, the event is now one of the most popular races in the UK. A small group of individuals started the race back in the early 1990s and the money raised from that very first race was used to help fund the building of the Sussex Beacon, the charity which organises the race.

Tomorrow:

Dark Skies Festival at British Airways i360

If you love gazing at the stars or want to know more about the moon, then pop along to the i360 to look up from the sparkling lights of Brighton to the star-studded skies overhead. The lights will be turned off for an exclusive and extended 45-minute stargazing pod flight as part of this year’s festival.

As you glide to 450ft, Dan Oakley – the dark skies officer for the South Downs National Park Authority – will talk about the stars and why they are important for us all to protect. While on board there will be an opportunity to explore the views from the BA i360 pod through telescopes.
