A COOKING show champion gave children a masterclass in making their own pasta.

MasterChef winner Kenny Tutt visited youngsters at Chestnut Tree House’s children’s hospice near Arundel to teach them some skills in the kitchen.

The cook, who opened his first restaurant, Pitch, in Worthing last year, showed the children how to create their own pasta dough, which they then used to make fresh spaghetti.

Chestnut Tree House provides care for children in Sussex with life-shortening illnesses.

Mandi Hirsch, who works for the charity, said: “This was a really special day for Sam, Owen, Toby and Rose. There are always lots of fun activities for children to get involved in at the house, but for these four, cooking is always top of the wish-list when they’re asked what they’d like to do.

“We’re really grateful to Kenny for giving up his time to visit and organise this activity. Everyone had a great time, and there definitely weren’t any empty plates at the end. Making the most of every moment is what Chestnut Tree House is all about and Kenny’s cookery session will have certainly helped make some very special memories.”

Kenny is an ambassador for the charity and has previously created a cocktail called the Chestnut Alexandra, with £1 from every sale of the drink at Pitch being donated to Chestnut Tree House.
