A DRINK-DRIVER was caught after he crashed into a police car.
Adam Chapman was more than four times the legal limit when he hit the car in Brighton Road, Worthing.
The 49-year-old chef was driving a Volkswagen Polo which pulled away from the kerb and hit the police vehicle and another vehicle which were both parked.
He was forced to complete a roadside breath test and gave a reading for 147 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35mcg per 100ml.
Chapman, of Rectory Road, Worthing, was given a 16-week suspended prison sentence and 200 hours of unpaid work. He must also pay a £122 surcharge and £85 costs.
Magistrates banned him from driving for three years.
Police said it was lucky that no one was hurt by Chapman’s drink-driving.
