A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting another person in Salisbury.

The 17-year-old, who has not been named, was taking into custody by Wiltshire Police officers at just before 1pm today on suspicion of common assault.

It was originally believed the incident took place in McDonald's, Winchester Street, but managers at the store have now confirmed it happened outside the restaurant, despite what was reported by police.

Officers were called at 12.45pm.

Several police cars arrived on the scene, and officers were aided by PSCOs.

A group of around 20 people crowded around the incident, which spilled onto Rollestone Street, as the teen was arrested.
