Safety cordon in place after town centre gas leak
A SECTION of Bournemouth town centre was cordoned off on Monday evening following a suspected gas leak.
Gas engineers and police were on site, at Old Christchurch Road close to Horseshoe Common, and diversions are in place.
A number of properties have also been evacuated as a precaution.
Dorset Police said: "Officers are currently in Old Christchurch Road in Bournemouth town centre assisting with road closures following reports of a gas leak in a cellar.
"The road is closed to vehicles and pedestrians near to Fir Vale Road to ensure the safety of members of the public."
