MORE pictures of a multimillionaire’s £2 million rooftop vision for a seafront venue have been revealed.

In December, venture capitalist Luke Davis, 40, unveiled his £2,250,000 “coffee and cocktails” scheme for the former The View at Kingsway, Hove.

Mr Davis, who lives in nearby Langdale Road, said he is “building something for the community” and has been overwhelmed by the enthusiastic support since the first unveiling.

Speaking about the project, now called Rockwater, he said: “It looks different to when people saw it last, but it’s much better.

“I’m working with planning and heritage to ensure it fits in with the area as much as possible as well as drumming up support.”

Despite about a three-month delay to the opening date and going “about £300,000 over budget, maybe more”, Mr Davis said he is as excited as ever about the project.

He said the designs are currently “very conceptual” and the Rockwater team said it will be presenting a final design to residents before making a formal application for planning permission.

Angelique Henderson, joint-chairwoman of the West Hove Seafront Action Group and chairwoman of Hove Seafront Residents’ Association, said: “Luke has been working alongside the community groups, council and stakeholders and has been the main catalyst for seafront improvement as a community.”

She added that the Rockwater name was voted on by Hove seafront residents before it was chosen.
