A popular seaside restaurant is on the market for £1.3 million.

The Bell Cliff Restaurant and Tea Rooms in Lyme Regis is a licensed restaurant which has been owned by Paul and David for 21 years.

They have made the decision to sell the business, which is in the centre of the town, as they are looking to retire.

The agents, Christie & Co, say the opportunity offers a new owner the prospect of increasing the trade area by reopening the first floor dining area and altering the current menu to a higher end offering, away from the existing relaxed dining options. The restaurant can currently accommodate 40 diners internally, 16 externally and also includes a one-bedroom apartment.

Lloyd Colin, licenced business agent at Christie & Co, is handling the sale and said: “I expect there to be a high level of interest in the Bell Cliff restaurant as the start of 2020 has seen increased demand for new demand for new entrants to the sector as well as known brands expanding their current portfolios.

“This business is set up and ready for anyone to walk in and operate it from day one as it has a very loyal local following. However, a new concept would definitely increase the appetite of Lyme Regis as the Bell Cliff has operated in the same way for over 20 years.

“The incredibly popular coastal town draws in tens of thousands of visitors every year and I have been informed that it is just getting busier. Now is the time to buy a business in Lyme Regis.”

The Bell Cliff Restaurant is on the market at a price of £1.3 million for the freehold interest.
