ARMED police have arrested a man on suspicion of possessing a firearm.
Witnesses say a man had been holding a rusty air rifle outside a cash point in Claremont Road, Seaford, for about an hour and a half this morning.
Police armed with Tasers swooped in after a call from the public at 9.35am.
Sussex Police said: “Officers attended and the suspect was detained and arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm in public.
“A firearm, believed to be an air weapon, has been recovered.
“This is believed to be an isolated incident and no threats to any persons have been reported.”
