The town’s gardening club is calling all gardeners, poets and knitters to join in with this year’s spring show.

Bridport Gardening Club will be holding the show on Saturday, March 28 in Bridport United Church and all the classes are open to members and non-members.

A spokesman said: “In this year of uncertainty, we want to stay grounded. There are classes for daffodil and tulip growers, flower arrangers and vegetable growers. The scent as you walk into the room is breath taking.

“Try your hand at writing a five-line stanza on ‘our planet’ or make a knitted teddy which will be donated to Bridport Community hospital to be given to children who may need a bear to cuddle.

“This year, there will be classes for new exhibitors. It is for five shortbread biscuits which can be your own recipe.”

There will also be a charity plant stall in front of the church from 9am with a percentage of money raised going to Dorset County Hospital’s Chemotherapy Appeal.

For more information, instructions for the knitted bear and to enter classes, visit bridportgardeningclub.co.uk or call Ann on 01308 424055.

Classes must be entered before March 25.
