A CAMPAIGN to withhold sex from politicians has been postponed due to coronavirus.
Environmental group Divest East Sussex had announced a “sex strike” against East Sussex county councillors until they pulled £175 million of council pension fund money from the fossil fuel industry.
But yesterday campaigners called off a planned Monday protest outside Lewes County Hall to launch the strike due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The group had hoped to perform an extract of ancient Greek comedy Lysistrata.
Some Green councillors sarcastically spoke out against the announcement on Twitter.
“So disappointed I won’t get chance to not have sex with members of East Sussex CC... oh wait...,” said Lewes District Council planning chief Cllr Emily O’Brien.
“I wanted to not have sex with ESCC too,” quipped community chief Cllr Johnny Denis.
“Disappointed!”
