DODGY pension advisers have scammed some workers out of as much as £750,000.
APJ Solicitors said nearly a quarter of its claims came from people in the South East, the highest in the country.
Victims lost an average of £155,000 to scammers who convinced them to move into uncertain investments without warning them of the risk.
Lawyer Andrea Murray said a Government ban on cold calling for UK-based pension firms still left some in danger of losing savings. “We must remember the ban doesn’t stop overseas firms or firms based abroad contacting people out of the blue,” she said.
