TWO more venues have cancelled their events due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Komedia in Brighton has called off all events until March 31 after the Government called on people to avoid unnecessary social interaction.

Meanwhile all shows at the Theatre Royal have been suspended until further notice.

Tickets for rescheduled shows at Komedia will be valid for the new date.

But concertgoers also have the option to convert their ticket money into a donation for the venue and its staff.

“In the interest of our customers', staff, and performers' safety, and to follow Government guidelines, Komedia has made the difficult decision to postpone or cancel all events at the venue until the 31st March,” a spokeswoman said.

“All shows during this closure period, will either be cancelled or rescheduled to a new date and tickets holders will be contacted directly by email regarding the status of their show.

“For shows that cannot go ahead, anyone who wishes to do so can convert their ticket money into a donation to the venue and our staff at this difficult time.

“Our box office will be in touch to discuss this and exchanges or refund options.

" As an independent, unfunded arts venue these are unprecedented times and we appreciate your continued support in this difficult climate.”

All events at Komedia after March 31 are scheduled to go ahead as normal.

Meanwhile all shows at the Theatre Royal have been suspended until further notice.

Owner Ambassador Theatre Group said it would update customers within 48 hours with refund information.

"We understand that this decision comes as a disappointment, and a massive inconvenience for those of you already on the way to a venue this evening," chief executive Mark Cornell said.

"But ultimately we all want the same thing: the health and safety of our communities.

"We believe this is the correct decision to make.

"Given the current ambiguity and lack of clarity as to how long our theatres may be closed for, we hope to provide you with an update within the next 48 hours regarding the exchange of tickets."
