THE hospitality and leisure industry around the UK is currently taking a huge hit, and with Boris Johnson advising we stay away from pubs and restaurants, our businesses here in Brighton & Hove are hugely suffering.

We have rounded up some of our favourite pubs and restaurants that are offering takeaway services during this testing time, writes Lauren Libin.

Brighton Music Hall, Kings Road Arches, Brighton

Is still open and offering outside dining only. Choose to takeaway anything on the menu to or eat on Britain’s biggest outdoor terrace with extra space between tables.

Busby and Wilds, Rock Street, Brighton

Still open to the public, with heightened hygiene and a pared-back menu. The good news is it is offering takeaway on the a la carte menu including possibly the best pub fish and chips in Brighton. It said: “We are offering our full menu as a takeaway service, each dish is available at a discounted price of £10 and can be collected from a table with no direct contact required.”

Cin Cin, Western Road, Hove

Modern Italian restaurant famed for its delicious home-made pasta. It will be offering takeaway options from tomorrow from the Hove restaurant. These items will include hand-made pasta (0.5kg bags), focaccia, olives, fresh sauces, arancini, wines and more.

Franco’s Osteria, Victoria Terrace, Hove

The well-loved restaurant in Hove is offering pre-prepared food and pantry items for collection. These will include pasta sauces, pizza, and breads, pasta, rice, and more, plus delicious home-made lasagne.

La Piazza, Western Road, Hove

This family-run restaurant is remaining open and is upping all hygiene including offering sanitiser to all guests. It does takeaway of the full menu including pasta, pizza and steak and well-loved roasts on a Sunday. It si offering a 15 per cent discount for all collections (not available on Deliveroo).

Mrs Fitzherberts, New Road, Brighton

This week it will be launching “You bring the rug we’ll bring the roast” picnic roasts to take away including the famous caulipops. Customer to collect. Call to order in advance.

Will be offering roast dinner collection from this Sunday. It is also working on options for mid-week pick-ups and will keep customers updated via social media.

In need of some decent wine or beer? The Independent is offering craft beer and wonderful wine to collect. It is also offering local delivery at the moment. The pub is still open, but has had to close the kitchen temporarily.

These could be the best chicken wings in Brighton (and perhaps the world). The Lost Boys is offering takeaway on the full menu. It is also offering craft beer takeaways. You can call and order to pick up.

Will be offering a full takeaway menu including pub favourites such as gammon, egg and chips, burgers and wraps. It is offering local delivery for those who cannot get to them.

The much-loved city institution will be offering a large takeaway menu including pizzas, burgers, steak and of course Sunday roasts from this Saturday. Pizzas include the classic American with pepperoni or the more unusual Queen with ham, mushroom and egg.

The New Club, King’s Road, Brighton

Will be offering the full menu plus soft drinks and beverages to take away and people can order on-site or call ahead. Cathie Smith said: “If people want to drink alcohol they can always eat on the terrace. We’re being very vigilant and spacing tables as far apart as possible and there’s fine weather ahead. We’re also looking at using a delivery service and will keep everyone posted through social media.”

The Park Crescent, Park Crescent Terrace, Brighton

This popular pub is still open and will be offering roasts on a Sunday for takeaway. Katharina Kirchner said: “We are closely following the hygiene guidelines from the Government but we still advise anyone, please, to not bring their mothers or elderly parents into the pub on Sunday. Other than that, we are still here for our local community and will stay open for as long as we can.”

For a vegan option, try The Roundhill which is offering takeaway collection and local delivery on a pared back menu including a vegan burger and a delicious sounding cheesecake.

The Sidewinder, Upper St James’s Street, Brighton

Will be offering takeaway starting from today on the normal menu, including burgers, sliders and vegan hot dogs and their epic roasts on a Sunday. They are also aiming to offer delivery imminently.
